The International Society for Nephrology estimates that up to 10% of the global population is affected by some form of kidney disease, with millions of people dying each year from Chronic Kidney Disease. Accurate and precise measurement of kidney function is critical for the diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease. If diagnosed early, it is possible to slow or even stop the progression of certain kidney diseases. Renal Metrics Inc. provides clinicians with simple, accurate, and precise methods for determining kidney function.

Plasma Clearance

Simply put, the patented Tk-GV provides accurate and precise measurement of plasma clearance (CL), and works where other tests fail.

Tk-GV requires only 4 plasma samples over 4-hours to provide the most accurate and precise measurement of CL currently available.

It also provides advanced measurement of the volume of drug distribution and pharmacokinetic parameters which can improve drug loading dose and maintenance dose calculations.

Tk-GV provides accurate and precise measurement of CL even in patients with fluid disturbance, metabolic disease, acute illness, cancer, and low kidney function or renal failure.

Split Function

The Blood Pool Compensation (BPC) method for determining split renal function (SRF) was developed by a group of medical researchers with nearly 100 years of combined experience in nuclear medicine and kidney function evaluation. The BPC technique:

Is simple to implement, requiring only 3 regions of interest to produce reliable estimates of SRF,

Does not require extrarenal background correction and intrinsically corrects for intrarenal vascular activity, and

Can be used in patients requiring a nephrectomy, radiotherapy, have renal hypertension, hydronephrosis or are being evaluated for kidney donation.

About Us

Renal Metrics Inc. was founded in 2018 by Dr. Carl A. Wesolowski, a Clinical Professor of Nuclear Medicine. The company strives to improve the lives of patients suffering from kidney disease by providing clinicians with simple to use methods for accurate and precise assessment of kidney function. These methods are the culmination of thirty years of research work by Dr. Wesolowski, his research team, and their collaborators.

Dr. Wesolowski is an avid patient advocate, dedicated clinician, and innovative clinical researcher. The team at Renal Metrics follows his lead and is driven by a passion for helping patients through innovation in medicine.
